Another Way Home

The smell of the paper
when you open up an old book.
The rust on a bicycle
when it's left untouched.
All the things,
in the world can bring
joy if you look hard enough.
I gave up every opportunity,
to let go and give in.
I wasted my longevity,
while bracing for a win.
I'll keep skipping cobblestones,
cause I can't find another way home,
another way home.
When something's broken
I don't fix it.
When something dies,
I just buy another.
Cause at the end of the day,
I'm looking for another way to stay.
Give up every opportunity,
to let go and give in.
Wasting my longevity,
while bracing for a win.
I'll keep skipping cobblestones,
cause I can't find another way home,
another way home.
And I try to keep it all the same,
but the thoughts race every day,
and I feel like I've been betrayed,
by my own self.
And I know the past is over and done,
but somehow, I can't let go and more on,
and I feel like I'm no longer the one,
am I no longer the one?
I gave up every opportunity
to let go and give in.
I wasted all my longevity,
while bracing for a win.
But I'll just keep skipping cobblestones,
on the road home,
on the way back,
and at the end of the day,
when the cobblestones turn to grey,
I'll sit and wait.
For it all be the same.
