Remember the story of Achillies,
the forbidden love he felt,
and finding out that his love was gone.
How was he supposed to go on?
With the images in his head.
No wonder he went crazy,
he dragged a lifeless corpse for days,
to try and erase the memory of living wtih him,
he taunted villians with the joy of hunting him down,
he wanted to go but not in vain,
no not in vain
Was there blood on cupids' arrow?
Were we always meant to end like this?
Were Bonnie and Clyde supposed to make it?
When will the timing be right?
Do we have to wait until death for a fair fight?
I would burn down bridges for you,
but are we doomed?
All the greatest loves of history,
have ended tragically?
Romeo and Juliet made a suicide pact,
then died in vain.
Antony thought Cleopatra was dead,
then died alone when she waiting in bed.
Is that just what love is?
Do you have to die to know it?
He showed up like a pristine polished promise,
of a great life.
She fell in love with it,
with him.
One day after he gained his fame,
they were driving away
waving out his 1961 Lincon Continental.
She was thinking this is what life is,
this is my purpose
She heard a sound,
like a fireworks gone off,
she felt a drop,
like the sky had turned to dusk,
on a rainy night
She turns her head,
and his is in her lap.
Was there blood on cupids' arrow?
Were we always meant to end like this?
Were Bonnie and Clyde supposed to make it?
When will the timing be right?
I would burn down bridges for you,
but are we doomed?
All the greatest loves of history,
have ended tragically?
Romeo and Juliet made a suicide pact
Antony thought Cleopatra was dead,
then died alone when she waiting in bed.
Is that just what love is?
Do you have to die to know it?
Death seems like the ultimate price,
the ultimante sacrifice.
But in reality
is it selfish to go,
and leave us all greiving alone.
I don't know how to go on now,
why did this have to go down,
like this.
In fairytales they live happily ever after,
in history books they die tragecly together.
Which do you like better?
Was there blood on cupids' arrow?
Were we always meant to end like this?
Were Bonnie and Clyde supposed to make it?
When will the timing be right?
Do we have to wait until death for a fair fight?
I would burn down bridges for you,
but are we doomed?
All the greatest loves of history,
have ended tragically?
Romeo and Juliet made a suicide pact,
then died in vain.
Antony thought Cleopatra was dead,
then died alone when she waiting in bed.
Is that just what love is?
Do you have to die to know it?
I don't wanna die to know it.
I wanna live with those images in my head,
life joyous and rid of dread.
For you,
I'd burn to dust,
but I don't wanna have to.
I don't wanna have to.
I don't wanna have to.
